History:

I have over a decade of experience in the pump industry. In that time I had the opportunity to work on the state of the art pitot tube pump. There are some drawbacks I encountered when working on this pump that left me thinking, “maybe  there is a different way”. The most immediate difficulties I observed:

  • The pitot tube is a complex piece. This is the heart of the pump.
  • The rotating case, large mass, huge amount of energy for bearings.
  • The rotating case also takes a greater amount horsepower.
  • The mechanical seal face can be subject to shattering impact during assembly.
  • The assembly and service of the pump can be a challenge.

A new Idea takes shape:

If I wanted to address all of these issues the pitot tube was the starting point, the heart.  How could this part be simpler?            To answer this question I sketched out some ideas, made preliminary calculations and created layouts of several designs. I was encouraged by the results of my labor. I worked out a few design difficulties and came away with confidence that a new style pump could be economically built.

I completed some simple prototyping. The process has evolved over the course of nearly two years. The results have confirmed the viability of the ideas. I also discovered some other important concepts along the way.

Results:

I have developed a unique pitot tube pump that:

  • Has a simple, easy to manufacture pitot tube.
  • Has a higher efficiency.
  • Straight forward installation of the pitot tube.
  • The mechanical seal is mounted in a more traditional way.
  • A combination that makes assembly and service simple.

The future?

I have a great idea and a strong start on development. I am looking for interested partners. I can be contacted by phone, email or through the website listed below.
