Dear my colleague Natalia Gallego

Greetings New Year, I have received your letter. I have submitted a project proposal on Water and sanitation program for climate vulnerable areas to the Government of Bangladesh on the last 27-12-2009. Government will contribute 80% of the cost and the remaining 20% will be borne by any donor. Would you please arrange donor for the purpose. Interested donors will have to inform their willingness to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Government of Bangladesh.

If the donors are willing to contribute 20% of the project cost we may send the copy of project proposal to you submitted to the Government.
Most of the areas of Patuakhali and Barguna districts were affected during SIDR and AILA. The people in this area had to meet their biological needs in the open fields and polluted the water. In the absence of sanitary latrines waterborne diseases became acute in this area. It is also very necessary to raise the level of consciousness of hygiene and sanitation of the people in this region.

You are requested to please inform us after consultation with the donors.

Please send me your E-mail ID.

Thanking You,

Dear Friend,

Bangladesh, is a country, inherently associated with natural disaster frequently suffers from Evastating flood, cyclone, storm, tidal surge, tornado, riverbank erosion and drought. Every year, thousands of water and sanitation are destroyed in the natural disasters like Flood, Cyclone and Tornado. These structures are hardly constructed in consideration of the severe effects of the natural disasters. As a result, the affected people get deprived of accessing functional WatSan facilities and become vulnerable to health risk. The damage of water and sanitation facilities also causes unavoidable loss of energy, finance and time, not only for affected people but also for the country’s development efforts. There are multiple examples of damaged water and sanitation facilities during flood and cyclone in year 2007 (June-July-August, September and October) in Bangladesh. Plenty of WatSan facilities were fully damaged and community people suffered a lot from unsafe drinking water and unsafe human waste disposal which caused a great death toll in the affected area.
So, I shall be happy if you kindly give me advices and guidelines on this occasion for our country.

I am waiting for your reply.

Dear Natalia,

Greetings from Aid Organization in Bangladesh. I am Steering Committee Member and Regional Representative of the United Nation Office for Project Service- UNOPS-WSSCC in South Asia. I am welling to work together to be your partner in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is a low-lying revering country. It is one of the densely population countries in the world. The density of population is over 41% person per sqr. Km. and per capita income is about US$ 380 as average from hole the country. But actual figure is more below, because the ratio is fixed up middle of top & bottom. Due to their financial scarcity, they have no capacity to re-embers full cost of sanitary latrine or for drinking and use fresh water sources. Safe water supply and improved sanitation system will ensure better health & hygiene for this numbers of targeted people. But they are deprived and most of the households of this area are still use unhealthy latrines. Other hand, the caused of Cyclone Sidr and Aila damages & destroyed the sanitation infrastructure. So, most of the target populations are discharged their stool & urine into the field and water. Result of this unhealthy situation contributes of lot of episodes of water bone diseases, which affected to women and children. The age group of children are mainly 1-5/6 are very risky those are affected due to water bone diseases and they become die. Women are in the grip of exploitation in their household level, so they are also deprived from their basic needs and have also attack from water born diseases.

So, I shall be happy if you kindly give me advices and guidelines on this occasion for our country. If you possible send me your e-mail ID.

I am waiting for your reply.
