Dear my colleague Michelle White

Greetings New Year, I have received your letter. I have submitted a project proposal on Water and sanitation program for climate vulnerable areas to the Government of Bangladesh on the last 27-12-2009. Government will contribute 80% of the cost and the remaining 20% will be borne by any donor. Would you please arrange donor for the purpose. Interested donors will have to inform their willingness to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Government of Bangladesh.

If the donors are willing to contribute 20% of the project cost we may send the copy of project proposal to you submitted to the Government.
Most of the areas of Patuakhali and Barguna districts were affected during SIDR and AILA. The people in this area had to meet their biological needs in the open fields and polluted the water. In the absence of sanitary latrines waterborne diseases became acute in this area. It is also very necessary to raise the level of consciousness of hygiene and sanitation of the people in this region.

You are requested to please inform us after consultation with the donors.

Please send me your E-mail ID.

Thanking You,
Md. Moniruzzaman

I see that you have left general messages on the situation in Bangladesh, and I am well area that the water quality in that region has issues. I am not sure what kind of help that your looking for? As Mr. Benty said, this is something that needs to be worked on with the government for regulating water quality and funding the building to set up potable water sources and water reclamation(wastewater treatment plants) to improve the quality of water.

Thank you for your interest in our company, however your problem is not one we focus on with our technology. It is an unfortunate situation you described and with minimal income their probaby not alot you can do for each household. It is apparent it needs to be addressec at a government level with a need for funding. I am sorry I can not help.
Best Regards.

Dear Mr.Md.Moniruzzaman,
I am distressed to note that Bangladesh has serious problems of drinking water and sanitary toilets. I can certainly try my best to help you solve these problems.
To do that we have to first collect accurate data related to the regions. For eg.if there is a severe drinking water problem then we have to identify which areas exactly are affected. The same applies to lack of sanitary latrines. Once we have clearly identified the areas affected we can zoom in on the problems one by one and find solutions. please let me know more of these details. My email is tcchandran @gmail.com. Wish you best of luck.

Salaam Md. Moniruzzman, I hope you are enjoying the celebration of Ramadan! Right now, I may be able to help somewhat. I have four unused diesel powered trailer mount pumps available at "fire sale" prices. These units were fully built up in USA for a trade show in China. They are suitable fro flood mitigation ...something that maybe you are involved with. If you are interested in working together with me to clear these pumping units. Please let me know.
