Dear Darren Chitwood,

Bangladesh, is a country, inherently associated with natural disaster frequently suffers from Evastating flood, cyclone, storm, tidal surge, tornado, riverbank erosion and drought. Every year, thousands of water and sanitation are destroyed in the natural disasters like Flood, Cyclone and Tornado. These structures are hardly constructed in consideration of the severe effects of the natural disasters. As a result, the affected people get deprived of accessing functional WatSan facilities and become vulnerable to health risk. The damage of water and sanitation facilities also causes unavoidable loss of energy, finance and time, not only for affected people but also for the country’s development efforts. There are multiple examples of damaged water and sanitation facilities during flood and cyclone in year 2007 (June-July-August, September and October) in Bangladesh. Plenty of WatSan facilities were fully damaged and community people suffered a lot from unsafe drinking water and unsafe human waste disposal which caused a great death toll in the affected area.
So, I shall be happy if you kindly give me advices and guidelines on this occasion for our country.

I am waiting for your reply.

Sincerely Yours,

Md. Moniruzzaman
