portable frish water generation from sea water

i like to rais an issue regarding portable frish water generation from sea water direct to houses and buildings.

that mean we pump sea water in the city and the frishwater will be generated in eash house or building.
my backgrownd as marine engineer we used to generate frish water from the sea water direct.

why no company divert this know how to be aplicable in the cities.

what i am searshing now a days that to embliment this know how to cities.

specialy this will be very applicable in the poor countries in water like jordan and GCC countries.

my opinion we can develope this technology and we can integrate the solary energy too.

and also we can use the sea water for flushing exactly same what we use in Ships.

the chalngeas is to develope only cost effective material ( pipes and fittings ) to handle the sea water and my opinion this can be developed from GRP/PVC.....itc.

please let me get your comments because i am strongly believ in this know how to become populer technolgy and it will help the word specialy the sea water is for ever.
