I need to develop local limits for sulfate due to severe hydrogen sulfide damage in the collection system downstream of an industrial area.  One of the industries discharges a heavy sulfide load, (1500-2000 mg/l or about 3800 lbs./day)  The Massachusettes Water Resources Authority produced a good presentation at WefTec 07 "Full-Scale Field Trials Identify Sulfate Discharge Limits For Municipal Wastewater Odor and Corrosion Control".  The presentation has helped me understand the problem, and will help me when presenting to the industry in question.  I am wondering if any other municipal pretreatment programs are having this problem and are considering applying local limits to control sulfate.  Perhaps the limits are already in place.  I would love to hear from anyone who has or is considering such limits to see what levels they are considering and talk about getting the industries on board with this issue.
