Pepperl+Fuchs is hosting The Fundamentals of Intrinsic Safety (Ex) on August 19, 2009 at the company’s state-of-the-art training facility in Houston, TX. This educational training seminar will provide an in depth overview of the theory behind Intrinsic Safety (Ex) protection and its application within the process industry. It will also provide a foundation for understanding the differences between zener diode barriers and galvanic isolators, the core fundamentals of approvals, certifications, control drawings and installation techniques. The course will also include a segment on safety integrity levels and how they relate to the process industry and hazardous location systems.
The class will cover a wide range of topics including Hazardous (Classified) location identification, functional principals of zener diode protection and galvanic isolation, entity vs. loop approvals, as well as certifications and control drawings.
